'Freeway' and 'Freeway–The Remixes'
Two albums in perfect harmony ~ Why?

Most of the songs were picked from a collection of 100s written since the 1990s. A couple were written in the recent past, one being track Freeway that includes words from a poem by brother Stephen Hugill.

Both albums were created along the same time frame and each references the same nine songs. .

The idea started in 2012 when UK based Producer Paul Baggott (also a Songwriter) offered to put track Freeway into better shape.  Curious and eager to hear what Paul might bring to the track, the results were great,  giving a much improved sound.

This mini-collaboration led to working on more songs. Toying with the idea of creating a set in multiple genres - and with Paul divulging he was into creating Remixes  - Freeway became a project.

Two albums would be created, the first a singer-songwriter version, the second a remixes version.

‘Freeway - The Remixes’ album flows along the veins of artful EDM, into spatterings of  soulful jazz and R&B. Edgy beats and fast paces contrast with ambient trippy atmospheres, evolving transitions, movingly melodic climbs, dynamic vocal textures. On some tracks only jigsaw snips of vocals or cutting-room lyrics are featured. The tracks are (with only a couple of exceptions) poles apart from the songwriter tracks; so a subheading 'remix' no longer hit the mark. Instead, each track has its own brand spanking new name.

Perhaps a happy debate that the albums belong together. Two albums in perfect harmony. Thanks for listening!
